Windows
Windblown
Overthrown by the torments of the prevailing winds
The weather outside causes daylight to dim
Yet you're trying to find a safe haven or shelter
But no one can protect you from the imminent twister
You shut yourself away from the rest of the world
Trapped behind bars until your future unfurls
They say that love can save you from falling too deep
Your secrets percolate and blood begins to seep
You can't ensconce forever from the fate of the rising sun
Or prevent something that's already begun

Why do you always keep your windows closed?
Hiding away from everyone you know
Open up the stitches of your fractured soul
Pick up the pieces that were once eternally whole
You can't find your way home
When your lonely heart struggles to roam

Why do you always cry onto your pillow?
Droplets of rue cascade like weeping willows
Open your eyes before falling from grace
Dry your tears descending down on your face
When your lonely heart struggles to roam
Find your inner light to guide you home

 Explosions
Your emotions are beginning to weaken from bombardment
While you're enclosed in a small and nebulous compartment
Yet nobody can hear your internal frustration
But the silent screams in your mind reveal intense exasperation
Now you desire for someone to heal your blistered cicatrix
Portraying yourself as an isolated enchantress
I see your handprints fading on a inumbrated, forbidden door
Bleeding hearts cast shadows into my indestructible core
You can't breathe the oxygen in a intoxicated city
It's time to free yourself from your padlocked sanctuary

Why do you always keep your windows closed?
Hiding away from everyone you know
Open up the stitches of your fractured soul
Pick up the pieces that were once eternally whole
You can't find your way home
When your lonely heart struggles to roam

Droplets of rue cascade like weeping willows

Dry your tears descending down on your face
When your lonely heart struggles to roam
Find your inner light to guide you home

I can sense the essence of your cold sweat
As I unlock the entrance to an unbroken paradise
On the wall, I can see your dancing silhouette
Thanking me for a second chance at a better life
The world will shake, your windows will break
But this time you're not alone

I'll be your inner light to guide you home
