These Tracks.
I shouldn't come back to this place.
These railroad tracks carry more than just trains
Memories race past while I walk
I try to imagine the way that we talked
Skipping rocks across puddles and beats across hearts
Cuz I'm more scared of love than I am of the dark
But with you it was different, I swore I could feel
And I haven't since then I don't think, ..it's not real.
You shouldn't drive around here anymore.
Im kicking myself, always pacing the floors
Headlights pull in and I'm slipping outside
Instead of slipping between sheets and closing my eyes.
Then My eyes just get lost into yours, not my dreams
Giving life to the night, putting slumber to sleep
Giving hope to These Tracks like we're sixteen again
With the simplest of smiles and the brush of your skin.
I shouldn't drive back on this road.
It carries me places further than just home
Memories race through my mind
Back to summers on nights when I swore you were mine.
I live in this city but I dwell on a dream,
That you'll run out of reasons... &run back towards me.
