misunderstood
I remember once, we were walking
down a dark and lonely road
when our hearts still beat as one
and our time was never bode.

I should have stopped to take a picture,
 captured irony at its loudest,
the way i gazed into your eyes
as you insisted you were proudest.

We walked a dull and lonely life,
with dreams of making, changing the world.
 possibilities, they seemed endless.
in and out my head they twirled.

but looking back, things haven’t changed,
and though I always thought they could,
they ripped our pride and stole our credence,
 because we were young, misunderstood.
