December Rain
I met you on the day the daisies bloomed
First day of spring, end of winter
You came over, you said hi
I turned away, I was shy.

 Those soft blue eyes
 So true like summer rain
 Caught mine from a distance.
 Those soft sweet lips
 Smiled like spring,
 Laughed like summer.

You took my hand and pulled me back
Hey, you said, what’s your name?
They told me not to listen,
They told me not to hear,

The things that you would promise,
The things I’d hold so dear.
But you said hey, let’s be friends,
How could I do nothing but smile back?

 Those soft blue eyes
 So true like summer rain
 Caught mine from a distance.
 Those soft sweet lips
 Smiled like spring,
 Laughed like summer.

I leaned in, you whispered my name,
I fell for you. Fell for that smile,
 Fell for that laughter,
Fell for all the things they said I shouldn't.

And now I’m caught in the December rain,
All alone, in the middle of the street.
The sky is dark, the clouds above,
There’s no one here; you said you’d come.

 Those soft blue eyes
 So true like summer rain
 Caught mine from a distance.
 Those soft sweet lips
 Smiled like spring,
 Laughed like summer.

Down falls the rain, cold and numb,
 I’d stand here forever,
 Just to forget your voice
Forget your smile, forget your laughter,

Forget the way you made me feel.
I’ll be here forever and a day
Until the tears freeze on my face.
