Voodoo
I know enough to rip you apart at the seams, stitch-by-stitch
And snatch the black buttons from your eyeholes
To unravel the threads that make up your life
Whispered words dark magic on a cold winter’s night.

This knowledge has you begging at my feet
“Leave my limbs intact,” you plead.
 “I’ll do anything.”
But now don’t you know, it’s too late.

 Someday, someday,
 Dreams all gone astray
I shall burn you at the stake
You, my enemy, have made a big mistake.

 These words, just contained
 Inside my wicked heart
 Pleaded for some release
For your pain, stuffing torn apart.

You are a rag doll in my hand
The sum of your voodoo is you
 My want overcomes my mind
As I hug your hand to mine.

No matter how I hate you
 Hate that smug little mouth
 There’s something here of love
 Some fragment of myself.

 Looking closer at the doll
 Thinking of you
 My hand starts to tighten
 But something stops me.

 You were me once
When you were happy and loved
 In a house of riches
 Like the one I had.

I know enough to kill you, to pull you apart
I have a blade held right beside your bloody heart
But I know that you are me, me and you
I let go, you fall to mystery.
