On top of my mattress
All covered with sheets
I lost my poor kitty
When somebody screamed

She jumped off the bed and
Onto the floor
And then my poor kitty
Ran straight out the door

She ran down the sidewalk
And into the street
And now my poor kitty
Is nothing but meat

My kitty's not dead
I just had a nightmare
a-lying in bed

The author's comments:
To the tune of "On Top of Spaghetti" My and my friend wrote this when we were in 5th grade for a talent show and with this song, we made it to the finals-- this song comes a long way.
