"I was outta luck the day the music died." -American Pie (the song)

the thunder may roll
the wind may blow
the lightning strikes my pain
lord only knows
the stories i'm told
nothing's more lonely then rain.

put your hand up next to mine
a mirror image of each other
but alone i sit
my hand against the window
watching summer weather

the thunder may roll
the wind may blow
the lightning bring on the pain
lord only knows
the stories i'm told
nothing's more lonely then rain

in one brief second it's frozen
the trees bent
the clouds dark
a crack through the sky
and the next it's just a memory

the thunder may roll
the wind may blow
the lightning is my pain
but lord only knows
the stories i'm told
nothing's more lonely then rain

yes lord only knows
the stories I'VE told

Nothings more lonely then rain

The author's comments:
I fear lately I've had a bit of insomnia and lots of thunderstorms happen in the night. Our house has wide window sills for sitting.
