Shiloh
The voices soft on the window pane
 Whisper, "Let me in"
But I never let you out
 Oh Shiloh, my Shiloh

And the crickets chirp a thousand times
 Goodnight, goodnight, the thousandth time
Every night the same silly rhyme
But don't you know it was you every time?

When the voices sing their shadow song
That we might see how we were wrong
That we might see another dawn
 Oh Shiloh, my Shiloh
 Oh Shiloh, no Shiloh, no

And those may be the northern lights
Come to take us up to brand new heights
Those might be the northern lights
 Brighter than our brightest skies
Dull flickers to your lighthouse eyes

And the tree frogs croak a final time
 Goodnight, goodbye the thousandth time
To early sunsets and pocketed dimes
To you and all our foolish rhymes

The voices, shy on the smaller frame,
 Whisper out and in
Out you go, my sweet Shiloh
That I may see you in the morning glow
