I’d trade my eyes

For emerald stones

They couldn’t cry

But at least I wouldn’t

Be alone

 

I’d trade my hair

For strings of gold

People would stare

But at least I’d have

Something to hold

 

I’d trade my name

For metaphors

It’d look the same

But now it would mean

So much more

 

I’d trade my brain

For trees of pine

They grow in rain

And at least they’d be

Something that’s mine.

 

I’d trade my very fingertips

For one single lunar eclipse

I want to see something I adore

Before my body becomes

What it was before
