I am Able
June 26, 2015

My hands are bound to my chest
I can not walk like the rest
Yes, I'm disabled
Does that mean I am not capable
No, I'm still great and do my very best

I have always tried to pretend I'm in other people's shoes. One morning I see this man on his porch drinking a beverage when I notice he doesn't have a leg and his left arm stuck in one position to his chest. I am amazed that he could be so calm and carefree. He notices I am starting and only makes a sad smile. Then I realize I am looking at him with pity. I thought about how I would feel if someone was looking at me that way.
