"Nobody can hurt me without my permission"- Mahatma Gandhi

When you look past the
vast, infinite horizon,
then what do you see?

Do you see a sleek
office, with you leading an
important meeting?

Do you see angry
customers, impatiently
waiting for their food?

Do you feel the heat
of the crimson sun and the
beach breeze on your face?

Do you see your young
daughter, dancing? Golden braids
bouncing everywhere?

Do you see a dark,
abandoned yard, full of smoke
and you with a pipe?

Do you see the slums
of a country, and work to
ease their discomforts?

We look past the birds,
the fiery sun, the moon,
the stars we adore

We see the boundless
lives we can live, and try to
choose just one journey.

I guess that what I’m
trying to say is: Our life
can play out to be

any one of the
endless possibilities.
I choose my future.

This poem is a reminder that there can be so many ways to enjoy your lives...it just depends on what you wanna do and how you perceive what you do.

I love this poem, It's so thought provoking and gorgeous. I loved how you made a wonderful piece of poetry out of many little haikus. This poem is genius!

First off I loved your poem. I loved how you started it with a question it really made me wonder. :) The only thing I would work on is a little bit more imagery, other then that your poem was very good!!! :)
