A fresh, unclean wound
Will fester into sickness
If left untreated.

The author's comments:
It is true that if you leave a physical wound unattended, it will become infected and spread. The same thing goes for a situation where you have a mental or emotional wound. The pain will still cause infection in a different way. I guess that was my inspiration for this piece.

I like this. It is very consise and clean, but gets the point across clearly. And it's true; if you let the world get to you, then you will only fall further into the abyss of sorrow; but if you treat it carefully, then you, even if you fall, will arise renewed. I love the message, and the simplicity that it uses.
