Seasonal Solace
Arid soils crumble–
While parched shrubs now lay interred
A man-made rain falls.
Cracked shells, rising heat
Snatch hatchlings from mother bird
Gentle hands lend shade.
Rotting leaves fall, frown–
Once vivid greens, now dull browns
Composts nourish growth.
Disheveled snowflakes
Fuse with wilting pines, thinned crowns
Mulch protects anew.
Broken biota–
Flared Mother Nature's fury
But dear souls soothe her.
