Seasonal Scars
The ground breaks anew–
As blooms spring open with grace
Wilted willows weep.
Birds now chirp aloud
And praise heaven's warm embrace
Death lifts nestled babes.
Maple leaves leap, smile–
Verdure greens now crimson piles
Blighted roots wither.
Ice flakes crystallize
While pine trees grant scents sublime
Snow hares starve deprived.
Cyclic tales of time–
Yet this time Mother Nature
Roars of human sin.

The seasons come and go in a cyclic manner that is a tale as old as time. Yet, these decades, something seems different... why does Mother Nature no longer have supple skin, but rather scars of blight and a dying grin? Unless we humans acknowledge the sins we have committed to Her, Mother Nature shall never be the same once more.
