The author's comments:

Prom queens come to mind when I envision abstract concepts like perfection. I challenged myself to write about a prom queen whose beauty is a reflection of her audience— carrying their hearts, souls, and smiles onto center stage with her. It was a twist on the tale of being a "self-made" victor.
