The Things I Cannot Write About
There are a million things I want to say
But I don't even know where to start
I can't describe them
These are the things I can't write about
It's the feeling of rain against your skin
Or your stomach right before your first kiss
It's why the sun seems to shine brighter next to him
It's the confidence of a new dress
And the smell of a new car
How virgin pages feel between your thumbs
It's pen against paper
And the comfort of thunderstorms
It's the relief of crying
But the happiness of a smile
These are the things I can not write about
But there's one that always stumps me
It's how I feel when I'm with him
Or when I collapse into his arms at the end of the day
It's why he feels like home
But smells like adventure
It's why sometimes I just look at him and smile
It's this invisible thing we can't touch
And yet I'm drowning in it
In your words
In your smile
In Your eyes
In You
That's it
The hardest word to define
Is the feeling between us
I think some people call it love
But maybe that's not strong enough
So I will put you at the top of my list of things I can't write about
