Clear Tape
I think the man
who touched me
saw me
as a roll of clear tape
Transparent and easy to read
Yet he was trying to find the opening, the crack
hidden in the shiny veneer
His fingers gilded and etched across the surface
Only to find the fracture in the slick veneer
And from there he peeled onward, away
at the layers of clarity
transparency
Only to leave a
sticky, sickly
version of myself
