Ashes
The parched land consumes the rain as soon as the liquid makes contact.
A bolt of lightning splits open the barren landscape, dirt flying into my face,
And a crack of thunder shimmied its way through my ears
And rattled through my skull.
Why do the grey clouds that cap the sky hate me?
The sky keeps shattering my life.
But as my perception shifts,
the sky clears
and a burning sphere of flame hovers halfway under the horizon
in the midst of an apricot-hued sky.
A charming melody soars through the world
And the harsh desert transforms into a lush forest,
And my eyes pop at the sight of beauty.
A shimmering, soft mass floats over my palm.
Pure happiness whips through the air,
Then it all withers into ashes.
