Safety Gone Quiet
The exact spot where safety becomes silent.
Ever-deepening fear of what's out there.
Jumping to safety,
but being pulled right back in.
All your shadows chasing you to the edge.
At which point you run back into disasters.
The relfection of fire in your eyes.
Goosebumps trailing up your neck.
Standing like a statue made of stone.
Waiting for the superhero to save your day.
No one comes though.
You're on your own.
