Childhood
Water washed colors
Wash away any color left
Of the person you thought you were
And the rusted ridges of your body
Shake and break
With every forward step you take
And the hurricane of thoughts
Rip piece by piece your brain away
And the people stare
And then quickly turn away
Because you’re just a discarded piece of joy
From someone else’s childhood
A childhood that you never knew
A childhood that you never had
A childhood that you will never get back
