It's A Bird... It's A Plane... It's Dad
My Hero
Doesn’t wear a cape,
He wears tanks and wrangler jeans,
Constantly hearing screams of some angry teens,
And makes my life hell until I am eighteen.
My Hero
Made me emotionally secure, physically strong, and socially a butterfly.
Given me strength
even when I thought everything was going wrong no matter how I tried.
Has done anything and everything for my seven siblings and I,
Even through the hard times, I have never seen him cry.
My Hero
Works construction and builds big barns
That is all I can remember him doing,
even back when I was making things out of noodles and yarn.
I am almost positive he could eat as much as an elephant,
So it now makes sense why there is always an abundance of money spent.
My Hero
Shows me how to work hard
I mean after all we did live on a farm
We’ve done everything from building, breaking and baking things, to standing outside in a storm with hail falling just to watch its beauty
I have even chopped off the head of a chicken and watched it run around head off,
steam fuming from its clean cut neck in the cold crisp air.
My Hero
Has stuck with me right by my side
He swore to me he’d never say goodbye
And to this day he stands big and strong
Just remember, dads are never wrong.
