Breaking Free
Out of this cage she will break free.
She is strong, fearless,
and will not be broken.
From this place of black and white,
meaningless words
fake smiles
and empty bodies.
Into the clouds she steps
swirling, twirling, happy.
Until she’s pulled back again and again
by a tornado of toxic and temptations.
I’m sorry
world you were too much for me
she said.
Despite being a firmly planted tree,
through time
and time again of wearing,
she can still be torn.
When she felt like
there was no way to stand again,
a hand broke through
the darkness that held her.
A hand that was there to stay.
And all of a sudden
The black turned to white.
The words filled with infinite meanings.
The smiles shone with warmth.
The genuine love she couldn’t see,
was revealed.
And finally, she smiled.
