Letter to a Fighter
I mean this with nothing but love, my dear,
nothing but love.
Are you happy?
I can see that your heart is feeble,
your mind is tired,
your mouth is wraped in gauze.
But I must ask.
Are you happy?
Does that spark still dance
in your soul?
I know it does, my dear, I know is does.
But I just had to check.

Even thinking about it after I wrote this, I'm not entirely sure who or what I wrote it for. It could be a mother asking her child, or me checking in with myself. Irregardless, I wrote it to a fighter, an activist of some sort. Because sometimes we all need to make sure we still beleive in the cause we are fighting for, whatever it is.
