Some things you think won’t change
Until they prove you wrong
Everything moves a little bit
But you have to be strong

Some things stay a while
But they won’t stay forever
And when they’re gone you feel lost
But you’ll find something better

Can you spot the change
In every little scene
A cup that wasn’t there before
A friend that moved away

Everything moves without you
Whether you like it or not
But you might find that change is good
And better than what you got

Can you feel the change
Deep inside your heart
Humans learn and love to grow
But that rips you apart

You’re not one to accept it
And you try to prevent it
But there’s nothing you can do
To try to solve the grand old puzzle
The universe gave to you

And then you see it’s beautiful
How that in little ways
The world goes on and patches up
All of our mistakes

All the war and suffering
The world will heal too
And then you find you’re standing in
A world that changes you

Everyone who lives here
Can see it happening too
The love that comes from discovery
Can change quite a few

Then you realize
The whole world is your eyes
And then you see what’s waiting for you
On the other side

You’ll find the change you always longed for
That some who live on the earth would die for
All of us just accept it
That change is nature’s benefit

There’s so much to explore
In the universe we live in
Live and love and you will see
Change is all there needs to be

The author's comments:

My cat recently died, and it was the worst day of my life. I fell into a deep depression, and it was hard to do anything. I miss him so much, but I realized that he wouldn't have to suffer anymore. It's still really hard to even think about him. But we got a dog, and in no way does he replace my angel, nothing could, but it makes me happy. Change is usually bad before it gets good. I just want whoever reads this to know, it gets better, and you and your happiness matter :)
