fairy tale at 16
queen sharpens her double-sided axe, sister of dragons and slayer of gods, she spits emeralds and drinks poisoned wine, bee-stung lips swollen she will bewitch you, hair knotted and dark like the branches in the forest she could banish you to, eyes drawn like curtains, iron throne she sits and procrastinates, homework crunched under a glass slipper, sleepless castle breaks apart in the light of dawn, birds sing and slam into the stained glass of a church, she sings hymns to a Red Bull in the steaming pews
a witch takes her hand and kisses it
and they were roommates, oh my god they were roommates!
