What World Do We Live In
Once you’ve built a barrier of trust
or expressed the slightest amount of devotion,
It’s hard to say no.
We countlessly try to find excuses
to convince ourselves of the innocence
that could possibly contradict the reality.
We expose ourselves.
We do things to our bodies,
to make us seem more desirable.
We let you take over us.
We don’t even noticed the manipulation
involved in your pursuits of contentment.
We have made ourselves vulnerable
to the wrath of selfish desires.
What is the result on our part?
Hurt, sorrow, pain, guilt, anger, frustration,
regret, despair, and fear.
What is your outcome?
Contentment, serenity, and repletion.
But yet, are you satisfied? What world do we live in?
