A Day in Spring
  Walking in the woods,
The crunching underfoot as I ventured farther
  Along every new hillside
Not everyone sees the beauty
  They mostly see
Oozing mud, trampled snow, and dull trees
Of course I also saw this
Yet if they looked closer they would see what I see and hear
Little stubs of green in the little places of sun
Geese flying on their way home
Mud patches, as the earth starts to come alive
The sounds of little drips, as the snow begins to melt
  And roll away
Not everyone sees the beauty,
  They mostly see
Sloppy ground where their feet drown
Buzzing of the bugs near your ear, as the first emerge
Murky clouds of unknown fortunes, snow and rain hiding within
The sounds of mud splashing on their windshield, leaving it scared
Yet, I choose to see and hear
The little and new signs of life
  The trumpets of joy
  The beauty of the ground
  The sounds of change
Some see in black and white
  I see in colors
Some choose to hear what they want
  I embrace whatever hits me
