Streaks of Rain
Streaks of rain run down the bus window
My hair is drenched and my clothes are soaked
In my hands is my phone
Ringing, ringing, ringing
But I don't want to answer
All she is going to say is come home
I am never going back
Streaks of tears run down my cheeks
I can taste the salt against my lips
My eyes are swelled and red
I want to stop
But I can't
The tears just keep coming and coming
Maybe I should answer it
Tell her I love her
No, I can't
Streaks of rain run down the bus window
Blurred cars pass by
I pick up the phone
I hear her voice and the tears pour down
I'm sorry, I say
I want to come home
I get off at the next bus stop
Streaks of tears run down my cheeks
The rain has stopped
I can feel her warm embrace against me
The tears stop
We sit in silence all the way back home
I'm sorry, I say again
