Open Letter To Lacrosse
Dear Lacrosse,
I remember when I first got introduced to you.
I was in the seventh grade and I did not know much about you,
If I would like or even love you.
Your rules confused me in the middle of your game and would even get me in trouble.
But as I learned over the years I knew I would completely understand you one day.
Moving on to my second season with you was an improvement.
You have introduced me to many people who are now what I call my best friends.
I am thankful for that.
Every time I go to play your game I try and run my hardest.
You are the one who keeps me in shape,
And I am thankful for that.
Moving onto my third season I realized that winning your game isn't the most important thing.
It's about the culture of the team and your sport.
It's about showing coordination and attention.
It's about respecting teammates and opponents.
And most important,
Respecting the coaches and you, lacrosse.
For I have many more years with you,
I will cherish each coach, team, practice, game, and tournament like it's my last one.
I will forever cherish the life long friendships you've introduced me to.
I look forward to play with you.
Love,
Meg
