Who I Am Today
They always told me to take a chance,
And to keep an open mind.
But the constant worry held her back,
From what she needed to find.
Many mentors helping me along the way,
On the path that would make me who I am today.
Life experiences have also shaped me in many ways,
Confidence, leadership and strength becoming the guiding principles in my life.
Inside there are stitchings from broken hearts,
Bitter words from heated arguments,
Music that gets me through,
And emotions I cannot convey.
Eventually, I took a chance,
And set my worry free.
The pieces seem to fall into place,
And I knew who I needed to be.
