Silence is the sound of yellow.
A bright, sunny day in a field,
Where her flowing hair drapes downward.
Her beautiful smile makes time yield.

The daisies stand at her shoulders.
A moment of complete freedom;
She hops atop the pickup truck,
The instance as pure as Eden.

She is the girl that never was;
Who awaits me in the near time.
My final year of adolescence,
Spent fishing for the wrong woman.

I sit and ponder the future.
Will tomorrow bring change fellow?

Being quiet is good, yes? Yes.
Silence is the sound of yellow.

This piece was for a school project in which we had to write a poem about a color and how it represented events in your senior year. My poem is about being single and dreaming of the right girl to come along in college.
