The Yellow
All around me I see
Red, Blue Green.
Then there is bright
Yellow.
Did you know
Van Gogh used to eat
Yellow paint because
He thought it would put
Happiness
Inside him.
All around me I see
terror, tears and tranquility.
Those are relevant and all,
But I would love to see,
Some more Yellow.
How lovely Yellow is.
Vivacious and vibrant.
A chromatic, colorful hue of the sun.
Yellow is the light.
I personally, strive to be Yellow.
Smiles,
Laughs,
Dimples,
And curious eyes.
Everyone needs the light.
Everyone needs the sun,
Everyone needs the Yellow.
Someone has to be Yellow,Don’t they?
The Yellow is the hugs when needed.
The awkward dancing to make you smile.
The jubilant laugh at a dumb joke.
The loving shoulder to lean on.
In The Wizard of Oz,
The extended metaphor to
Following the Yellow Brick Road,
Is to follow your HEART to
Do what makes your soul JOYFUL.
It is okay to be red.
It is okay to be blue.
And it is okay to be green.
But when the time comes
And the mood starts to shade
And the light starts to fade,
Chin up my friends.
Good things will happen,
Love is real,
And as of right now,
It is your turn
To stand up
And be
The Yellow.

My inspiration came from the way I view colors as moods, everyday I strive to be the smiling face you see as you enter school and the warm "hello" as you enter the classroom. I want to make people appy, and everyday I make sure I do, this poem is motivation for other people to be like me and embrace The Yellow.
