Poem to Her Brown Eyes
Your eyes are soil,
so full of life and mystery,
so dark I could stare for hours
and not find a shred of
boringness
Your eyes are like molten mahogany,
beautifully textured,
so naturally beautiful and gleaming
regardless of their darkness.
One of nature’s most beautiful creations
with no impurity to be found
Your eyes are
the shimmer of the sun
deep in a cave,
as mysterious as what lies
in the cave walls
Your eyes are an eclipse,
so entertaining to look at
when one gets the opportunity
to do so.
You can’t stare too long into them,
as you could get drawn in
and stare for hours.

The inspiration for this poem was to prove to my girlfriend that her brown eyes aren’t boring, no matter how boring she thinks they are.
