The Dragon and the unicorn
One night up came a pretty mare
With a horn on her head and glitter gold hair
The way she pranced
Put me in a trance
But I slunk away without a backward glance
“Oh, unicorn, who shimmers within,
I love you, but I’m a living sin
Do not come back tomorrow night,
For should you see me you’ll die of fright.”
The next night she came with the moon
She danced around the way I do
Her sideways gaze
Her gracious ways
But still I had to look away
“Oh, unicorn, you and I are alike,
But I am black and you are white
And I am bad and you are right,
So don’t come back tomorrow night.”
The third night she came my heart broke
For her and me, there was no hope
She the beautiful mare,
I the dragon’s glare,
I wanted to run, did not know where,
“Oh, unicorn, don’t come again
Or I will die, I’ll never win,
I love you so, so much, but when
Would you love the monster within?”
The next day she came by my side
Pulled me close as I began to cry
Her loving words
Her sweet, soft fur
I didn’t know I would ever come close to her
“Oh, dragon, I have heard enough,
It’s you and you only I love
And I would never be so rough
As to judge you for ever being such.”

This poem was written when I fell In love with a beautiful girl. I was a bad girl and she was a goody-goody, so we couldn't be more different. I wrote this poem to tell her my feelings for her. I hope everyone who reads this will undertsand that no matter who you are, someone out there loves you.
