Someone Like Me
There’s only one person out there.
One person who gets me better that I get myself.
Someone who truly makes me laugh,
Uncontrollably and indefinitely.
That someone I love more than anything.
You knew me better than I did.
Without you I’m gone.
With you I’m hurting.
There was no love here.
Only the feeling of missing you.
Missing the love that was never there.
But you get me, you understand me.
More than I ever believed anyone could ever.
You took my hand,
Lead me to places I thought I knew.
You understood the way my hand fit in yours.
The way our eyes locked,
Before you leaned in.
All of it made sense.
We were like a puzzle.
We fit perfectly.
But then you left.
Leaving me to believe that you were someone like
Me.

The pain of losing someone who I loved so much inspired me to write this. They hurt me in ways I couldn't describe until I began writing it all down on paper, letting those feelings all out.
