From here to there, I’ve seen it all,
Ever since I was small.
Montgomery, Alabama, 2001
My adventure had just begun.
Next stop, Colorado Springs
My brothers’ birthplace sings.
But, wait-there’s more,
After all, I’m only four!
A plane overseas,
Hey, that was a breeze.
Trilingual by six,
I’ve got my language fix.
Back to America on a flight,
Something just doesn’t feel right.
I’m in a place unknown
And, oh, how I feel so alone.
No friends in sight,
I don’t like it in the slight.
We finally return home
And I have freedom to roam.
My friends, my language,
I’m no longer in anguish.
By the age of nine,
I’ve had the adventure of a lifetime.
South Africa for fun,
Definitely worth it in the long run.
Called to Bolivia at eleven,
Whoa, slow down just a second.
Riots, fests, danger at every corner
Man, do I feel like a true foreigner.
Three years as an unwelcomed guest,
How I’m ready for some rest.
Time to switch gears,
Since I’ve been gone for years.
Traveling has been my norm,
But now I am at the top of my form.
Senior year spent abroad,
I have to thank God.
A melting pot of cultures is a clue,
That I am an American through, and through.
