For The Love of Eyes
I got out of bed this morning.
Quickly change out of my normal
shirt and shorts.
Look in the mirror.
I see those Eyes, those color-changing
blue and grey Eyes that change color
whenever I go in
and out of the sun.
Everyone says that they look amazing.
Those Eyes that a girl five years ago
once said that they
looked like the ocean.
What do I see, when I look into those
Eyes, those color-changing Eyes? Two
circles of nasty matter
that aren't beautiful.
But despite these "beautiful blessings"
called Eyes, these blue Eyes, all I see
are failures in life
and in love.
Look in
my Eyes.
What do
You see?
Am
I
Enough?

So recently one of my three personal things I have been self-conscious about is my eyes. As mentioned in the poem, they change color. I'm the only one in my family who has blue eyes, as well as the only one of my friend group who has blue eyes. So it is not something I'm used to. All in all, I hope you enjoy it, as I feel like this is a pain for many people with one aspect of themselves.
