An Ode to my Heart
Dear heart,
You have endured
Endless loss;
He walked away,
And still, you beat.
The cruel world
Creates turbulence,
Slits and slices,
Taught to become scars
Painted across you
In numbers
Like stars in the sky.
And yet you wear them
Like stars too,
Invincible
In the face of your ache.
