The Jester
I am the stripes of the twisted jester—
Royal Purple,
generous and kind, like the kings who wore this hue,
yet authoritative and witted, just as those who ruled before.
Trickster Gray,
mischievous, musing at the idea of consistently fooling those who stand near me,
though hidden, for those who have been played never seem to catch me.
Pitch Black,
blind to my true feelings, as the damage done by others runs far too deep.
Now, I view this world through a blanket of hatred, fear, and sorrow.
I want nothing to do with this life, yet desire everything in it.
I am an enigma. A paradox.
My task is simply to amuse and cause laughter.
Just as if I were this twisted jester—
wearing these hues of purple, gray, and black.
