Life is a Spelling Bee

Everyone starts off with hope and glee,
but soon many quickly realize
that they will soon meet their demise.
When the pool of contestants diminished to few,
the hopes of the remaining slowly grew.
Eventually though, reality hit,
and the definition of winner, they did not fit.
So when the contestants collect their consolation prize,
they learned to not let their hopes rise.
With hopes and dreams of winning it all,
many only experienced their hopes fall.
