“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” --Barack Obama

I stood there watching on the front,
And couldn’t believe my eyes.
You were all engaged in a manhunt,
When you were supposed to be allies.
Rifles, tanks, gas, and more,
Were used without restraint.
Covering everything with gore,
Treating blood like paint.
No one fears death more than Death fears death.

I stood there watching in Poland,
And couldn’t believe my eyes.
Striped prisoners stood half-frozen,
As they looked up toward the skies.
Glancing at flying birds with envy,
Hoping, praying they could leave.
The camps in Poland are deadly,
Life is impossible to achieve.
No one fears death more than Death fears death.

Humanity amazes me with every passing year.
Because the only thing you seem to do,
Is to kill mercilessly with cheer.
To separate your one human race,
By religion, race, and color.
As if doing so will make this place,
Better than before.

You have ruined death.
Transformed it into something gruesome.
No one fears death more than I.

The author's comments:

Most people personify death into some creepy skeleton lurking in a cemetery. But I personally think that the ways we commit genocide or fight in war would terrify Death. Death is probably more scared of humans than we are of Death.
