A Tree

Verse 1: I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against A Tree the earth’s sweet flowing breast

Verse 2: a tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy leaves to pray
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair

Verse 3: upon whose bosom snow has lain
  Who intimately lives with rain
Poems are made by fools like me
But only God can make a tree

Verse 4: a tree that lies in the woods
  Keeps its branches so flowy
Its roots so timber upon the base
Of the forest amidst the color
That it shows greenery and scaling
