Standing on the ocean
How I yearn to be standing on the ocean
But where I live there is no such notion
The winter’s fresh fallen snow
Fall’s colorful array
Summer’s heated sun
And Spring crisp fresh air
All these simply do not compare
I want to be standing on the ocean
To be lost in its vastness and majestic beauty
And enjoy peace and solitude in all it’s purity
My heart and soul truly become one
As my skin soaks in the warmth of the sun
The ocean welcomes me with cool mist and breeze upon my face
There is no doubt it is my most favorite place
A place to run and feel free
A place where I can just be me
I want to be standing on the ocean
The ocean is an infinite boundary to the eye
How far it goes no one can deny
It is tranquil yet calming can easily consume us all
Upon mother nature’s sudden and fierce call
Oh how I want to be standing on the ocean
The ocean waves embrace the shore
That is a sound and sight I must adore
I am lured into the soft warm sand
As water surrounds my feet like an island’s land
The sun sets kissing the ocean goodnight
Only to rise and awaken the ocean with delight
As I walk the shore towards the sunlight
I am assured that the future's so bright
I want to stand on the ocean
The ocean takes my breath away
I am lost in kit’s embrace so long I stay
