First Day
I stand small, looking around
everything is so strange,
upperclassman stare at me as they walk by
Glancing behind searching for a framiler face,
my brother appears.
I scurry to him scared about getting in the way;
scared of the juniors and seniors.
Lost I ask my big brother
how do I get to my first class?
The delight that he was going to help me
poured-out only to be let down.
Now scared, lost, and alone I stand-
confused I am forced to ask another.
I am like an ant in the jungle,
trying to survive.
