I have been met
With thousands of solutions
And yet the problem stands
So here I sit

The room smells like oranges
Oranges, I remind myself
Help reduce stress
And yet I am met with increasing anxiety
Because nothing
Rhymes with oranges

I bite my tongue
As my mind races
Adding my inability to
Write a poem with lines
Like paces
To the stomping against my face

You enter and I smile
Forced, like the answers
You’ll draw from me
in a while

And perhaps that is why
I will constantly reply
To every question
With a wary “I don’t know”
Because sometimes
What needs to be said
Is better off unknown

For if I were to go off in a tangent
Your pen will grace the page
Noting down the
Fits of rage
that grip my excited tone

You ask me things
Subjects that I know
The right answer to
Pulling on my strings
To spit a pretty verse

And so I do
I drape flowers center
Over the “do not enter”
Signs inside my mind

Lead you straight into dead ends
Responses that are true
With just a slight bend

I smile and nod
Assuring you
That nothing is wrong
Lies painted across
My face to make do

And yet despite all of this
The games
The emotiones tamed
Nothing
Rhymes with oranges
