Heavenly Idols

O zephyr 'thro heavenly idols
Darling boughs and gaily coves go,
Illumined 'gainst rosy Cherubim,
Whose gambols sing of merry fleet,
Betwixt gold Madrigals aflame,
And flowering damsels of yore,
Tune beseech thy Swain's ruddy pap,
Blest twine choiring glades and Holly,
O Basilisk in the greenery,
'Twas Ruth's masterly courier!
And flies darkling his poison fray,
'Mongst heavenly eaves and chorus abound,
Villainy to strike the wreathen Muses,
Alas, alas sleep fair my Loves.
