It's Fine

The question “what’s wrong?” is an internal paradox.
We say this and supposedly we mean well but all hell breaks loose when we hear the truth.
We expect others to say “Nothing, I’m fine.” but there’s a point in time where we can no longer carry out this lie.
We crack. We break our backs over putting a smile on the same mouth that utters these very words.
It’s absurd. And when we do summon the courage to express this self assessment, those around us are…
Not fine.
We are not fine with the struggles of others because we are already have our own “I’m fine” lies that just sit inside and bubble.
We are not fine with filling our minds with what defines a struggle.
We are fine when we know we no longer have to carry another burden of another person.
We are fine when whatever issues are weighing us down fade away only to never be dealt with.
And by not helping ourselves or others, we’re being quite selfish.
We are always convincing ourselves that we are, in fact, very much fine.
But it’s time to read between the lines. We must read the fine print behind the “fine” statement that enslaves us.
We say we’re fine, but when do we draw the line?
