Left without saying goodbye

What I remember about that day
was the phone ring
and the painful cry coming out of it
The house turning upside down as we hear the news
and the heart ache consuming us
He's gone now, forever
He didnt even get to say goodbye
Nothing about the wife who overnight has become a widow
Nothing about the baby who is now fatherless
