Coffee
You were my coffee.
I needed you to get through the day.
You fueled me.
Lightly colored. Love in every taste.
These were my favorite days.
The days you had those ocean-like eyes for me only.
The days you couldn't seem to stand being more than an inch apart.
The days you needed to hear my voice to calm down the demons that errupted deep within your soul.
Dark colored. Too bitter to easily go down the throat.
These were my least favorite days.
The days you seemed to turn off emotion.
The days you tended to distance yourself from everybody.
The days you would get angry at the touch of a fingertip.
One was too bitter to love but the addicted remained.
You were my cup of coffee that managed to get me through the day.
