There is Hope
Everyday, in and out, the same old story.
Nobody living with glory.
We go to school,
Some thinking they’re cool,
Others just passing through.
One of these people is you.
You sit in class,
Giving nothing but sass,
Yet you expect to learn.
As if learning is what at night you yearn.
Learning is the last thing on your mind.
Only a partner is what you really want to find.
Never do you see the things I see.
I see the wish to be free,
The desire to see their own beauty.
The feeling of lost hope,
I hear the pain of those who no longer want to cope.
Is school really the place to be?
Pain, sadness, hate, and so much more is what I see.
Am I the only one to see everyone’s pain?
Does pain course through everyone’s veins?
Or is there more to the looks of deep sorrow,
Does it get better in the morrow?
There is a place where happiness can shine through the dark.
Bringing joy to you, like an ornithologist when they hear the song of a lark.
Find the silver lining,
the place where the sun is shining.
Happiness is out there.
My visions of the darkness aren’t something I’ll share.
Don’t be one of the people I see.
Don’t be me.
Go. Go live your life to the fullest.
Be a doctor, a teacher, a writer, an artist.
Your opportunities are endless.
Don’t be friendless.
Get out there,
You have so much to share.
Fall in love, help people in need.
Do a good deed.
You can cope.
There is hope.
